Citadel Residential School – ‘A castle of knowledge’ located in the midst of a peaceful and natural environment at Ettichuvadu, Ranni is a Co-educational Christian Minority institution managed by the Catholic Diocese of Kanjirapally.

‘Citadel’ a name deeply embedded in the educational map of Southern Kerala was established in 1992. It grew and diversified to meet the changing needs of time and education with the introduction of Higher Secondary classes in 1999. Since its inception, it has evolved into one of the premier and leading institution of Pathanamthitta District imparting quality education It is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and follows the curriculum of National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT).

It strives for a scholarly venture that focuses on vital and original thinking, with the aim of societal transformation. The school makes a preferential option for all sections of society and it seeks to give an all round formation, inculcating both human and spiritual values. Here learning is done in a congenial environment. Citadel indentifies the potentiality in each student, by imparting expert and activity oriented learning. Each child receives an education which is skill based that develops his critical and logical thinking. Each learner is helped to lead an exemplary life, a life enriched with not only wisdom, but also admirable values. The learners are engineered by dynamic people who are fervent instructors of wisdom and knowledge.

Citadel is trying to provide realistic all round schooling, with the aspiration of forming girls and boys who will be disciplined citizens and will demonstrate a high academic calibre as well as emotional equilibrium, religious sensitivity and social commitment. Thousands of students have passed through the portals of this institution during the last 25 years and they bring to mind with wistfulness the days spent in this institution, and the precious impact it had on their lives.

The Medium of instruction at Citadel is English. A special interest is taken that English is to be strictly used in the campus.

We are at work from Monday to Friday and on first Saturdays from 9.30 am to 3.30pm, with the working days numbered up to 210 days. To carry out the administrative affairs, the school office function from 8.30 am to 4.30pm on all working days.
